Subj : Netmail in the insecure inbound To : Kai Richter From : Alan Ianson Date : Mon Apr 26 2021 18:18:07 Hello Kai, AI>> I don't know that. What is wrong? AI>> I know that it is inconvenient for me. KR> That is reason enough. That is not reason enough. Decompressing an archive (within reasonable limits) is not a problem. KR> But it's not only for you, it's for any other node that will receive KR> insecure compressed netmail from that node. You are in the first line KR> and responsible to defend systems with no or limited compression KR> support. I will work with such a node if there is one. I will deliver mail and files to a node in a way they can work with even if that causes me extra steps to do. To date I have not heard from any nodes that they could not decompress any mail or files sent to them. KR> Could you tell me what de+compression software is available for the KR> OpenPandora or the Dragonbox Pyra? Great if you ever heard of them KR> before but bad because i'd liked to give an expample of surprizing KR> hardware out there. I do not know what works with Dragonbox Pyra. If someone is using exotic hardware or software then I may not be able to communicate with them if they cannot work with plain packets. This is far from the issue I have seen and reported.
