Subj : FidoGazette Vol 11 no To : Daryl Stout From : Richard Menedetter Date : Fri Jul 27 2018 01:25:02 Hi Daryl! 14 May 2017 15:49, from Daryl Stout -> Richard Menedetter: RM@>> There is an extremely strong unproved assumption behind that. DS> I would rather live my life as if there is a God, then die and DS> find out that there isn't one...than to live my life as if there DS> isn't a God, then die and find out there is!! For me it is exactly the other way round. As long as I do not see any evidence for the existence of a god, it is not logical to assume its existence. But that is not the point ;) I have no issue with people believing whatever they want, as long as they do not force their view onto others. And accept that their view is just that ... their view. It is not the ultimate truth. DS> In short, if the believers on Jesus are wrong, they won't lose much DS> when they die. DS> Unfortunately, those rejecting Christ will lose so much more. No ... actually they GAIN. I live my life under the assumption I have to make the most out of it, as it is short, and when it ends it ends. If indeed a god exists (highly unlikely to me) and there is a live after death, then there is so much to learn. So *IF* (very big if) that is the case, I will be very, very, very positively surprised. DS> Everyone gets at least one chance to hear the Gospel, and if they DS> fail to do "the one thing that God requires" (believing on the One DS> He has sent, in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ), they will DS> have no one to blame but themselves after their death. a) who says that? b) I do not blame anyone! DS> Some wil say that "God is forcing people to choose Him", If a being exists that has the powers you presume, it will be neither male nor female. So for me it is logical to refer to this (fictional) being as it. DS> but you actually have the choice... DS> you can accept Him, or you can reject Him. You missed the most logical point. I neither accept the notion of a god, nor do I finally reject it. I do not have enough evidence to make a judgment on that point. DS> Because Satan deceived our first parents (Adam and Eve), I have not seen any evidence of the existence of satan. I have seen genetic evidence that makes the myth of Adam and Eve virtually impossible. DS> the curse of sin is upon every human being, and upon all of creation. Thank you for your view. I do not agree with it. CU, Ricsi --- GoldED+/LNX * Origin: He who opens a school door, closes a prison. (2:310/31) .
