not really... RL is still in play in many situations and the procedures do ask 
for some leeway of several weeks because of this...

as far as i'm personally concerned, this would have been OK to a point... that 
point being that when they got assigned to their local network and had to 
reconfigure everything for that new address... not everyone is a 20something 
(30something??) that is connected to ""the 'net"" 24x7... too many folks are 
trying to live too fast for what is really going on... social media shows this 
every day...
