It's sad to hear that. My condolences to his family!
I've also lost some family members to cancer and my wife's dad has  
also been diagnosed with cancer and it's unsure how much time he has  
left...

I don't want to sound unsympathetic, but is there a chance that this  
archive and the keygens he collected, can be saved somehow and passed  
to someone else from the scene or to archive.org or sth. like that?
