I think in the cat's mind they've never done anything -wrong-... Distasteful to some (ate the canary, peed on the carpet, etc. etc. etc.) but not unexpected given their basically feral nature. We have two feral cats that we adopted a number of years ago (5 years ago perhaps), and we _still_ don't see them jumping on our laps, etc. It's almost as if they "tolerate" us :) > My Mom told of a cat that found a plant of it in the yard...he kept > gnawing at it, until it finally killed it. Sounds like these two over here. There were originally 4 of them that we adopted.. One moved in with our neighbor and never returned (she's still there ), another a male in the litter took off, was recovered for us by a 'cat trapping' lady at our old house in Windsor and then the bum took off again here in the Ithaca area never to be seen again. Everytime I hear coyotes in the distance I wonder if Leo is still 'out there'. Anyway, at our house in Windsor where the 4 kittens lived until we moved here, there was a catnip plant in the yard.. that plant lasted about a year then the 4 of them tore it to shreds! They killed it good. >> Cornell :) That's right around here. Yes, when they put in Dorms at the SUNY (state university New York) the price of college skyrocketed as well. Take care, Janis --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-3 * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) .
