JK> Nah, just a little busy lately, sorry about that. Things are more JK> settled now so I can continue with it. :) I know about life outside the BBS. I had a car wreck in early January, and with all the hassle and expense (not to mention a mere pittance on the insurance), finances (or lack thereof) made it look like my BBS days were over. However, things are looking a bit better in that regard now. They paid the $9100 chiropractic bill, but otherwise, I got screwed on cost. Yet, I had to take the money, or I would've been overdrawn. Besides the car issues, a device in one of the toilet tanks malfunctioned, overflowing and flooding both bathrooms. Since I live here alone, I had the water shut off for the offending toilet, but they tore out both bathroom sinks and cabinets...plus tore up the walls and floors to mitigate the water damage...and the doors were removed. So, it gives a new meaning to the saying "Home alone is where you can poop with the door open". :P I've got to pay $1000 deductible on the insurance, but I may end up getting new floors, new sinks, new cabinets, and new toilets. The kitchen table has become my medicine cabinet (I had to dig through boxes to find the stuff). The battery on my keyless door lock failed, and I had to call an emergency locksmith to get me in the house...that was $165. Then, I went to move an uprooted dead tree, but one branch snapped back, nearly gouging out my right eye. I started having blurred and double vision in the right eye, but it's astigmatism. The eye pressures were lower this past week (11 in both eyes, instead of 13 in the left and 14 in the right, which is still "normal"), but they're still going to do a glaucoma check in early June. It cost $125 to get the dead tree cut up and removed. With a refund of an overpayment to Hospice for my late Mom, plus the COVID-19 stimulus check, my bank account isn't so anemic. However, bills are already lined out for it...as they say "It's not hard to meet expenses... they're everywhere". :P I even found a dollar bill on the ground in front of the Post Office this morning...I hope that's a good omen...I'm long overdue for some good things to happen. However, I'm not driving outside of central Arkansas anymore...the long rides or drives are too hard on me. Never mind the speed demons on the interstate highways, and the bumper crop of potholes. I saw a meme awhile back where "the pothole repair truck got devoured by a pothole". I got my first COVID-19 shot today...I'll get another one in 3 weeks. They lifted the mask mandate in Arkansas, and opened up COVID-19 shots to anyone 16 and older. With a 3 week time between the 2, I think by May 14, I should be "in the clear". However, with all the stuff outside the BBS, I've had precious little time to do any work with it...except logging on every few days to read QWK Mail...and to update the ham radio and weather related items. I was hoping to do work on reviving 2 message networks, but I need to get the plumbing issues at the house fixed first. Daryl ....
