I JK>noticed he's been 'away' for a bit... thanks also to Joe for forwarding the JK>info to you. I'm back online after over 2 weeks. Severe weather blasted through Arkansas on June 19...with hail over 4 inches in diameter in western Arkansas, tornadoes in southeast Arkansas, and hurricane force winds elsewhere. One such storm uprooted a tree just up the street from me. It fell on the power lines, ripping in half the power pole across the street, and pulling the electric meter off the north side of the house. The night of the storms, it wasn't too bad in here, but with no power or air conditioning, the heat index was at dangerous levels (above 100). It was like taking a hot shower, then climing into bed, still naked and wet. I didn't even get 5 hours of sleep that night. Knowing people die in conditions like this, I got a room at an area motel. The cost of it, and paying my Mom's income tax bill, wiped out my planned train trip to Albuquerque in September. The insurance company still considered the structure "livable", because there was still running water, and no other damage. I want to know how they consider being inside a structure with those temperatures as "livable". To them, it's a catastrophe if they have to pay the claim. JK>Now, has anyone heard from Ben Ritchey, 1:393/68? I've been trying to get JK>through to him as well with no luck.. :( Saw he passed away...but I didn't see the message until after I got back online.
