I have used a password manager, KeePass, for many years without issue. As Dale's said, if you use a good password on the password database, you're fine. I use both a password and a master key file that is hidden on the hard drive that only I know where it's at. It would be very difficult for someone to crack that database (Linux offers you more opportunities to keep things secure). My advice: use alphanumeric characters and punctuation with a password that's minimum eight characters long if not sixteen.
