I remember once when my doc complained to me that his staff kept putting
too many appointments into his schedule, not paying attention to how
long each actually was likely to take.... I'm sure that part of that was
due to his popularity as a doctor, though... That particular day, he
looked pretty run-down, though, and I commiserated with him... I think
that's what drew out the complaint...

It might just not have occurred to them... staff can be pretty oblivious
sometimes....  But I agree that would have been a nice courtesy...

And besides, when you have a doctor you like, and have a relationship
with, it makes sense to try to stay with him/her...  If you made
appointments now with a new doctor locally, probably it would be within
the year, so reasonable to set up ahead of time....?  I hear you,
though... this year I've had to make appointments with new
specialists... the one, I made a month ago, and the earliest opening was
in November.... fortunately it isn't something emergency (although, I
bet if I needed her services from the ER, I'd get in sooner for the
followup... [g]  ...maybe... [g])  Just made another appt with another
doctor for something else, earliest was the end of September, and the
scheduler was surprised she found something that close... ;)
