  One thing that has made it easier for me is a web browser add-on
called "Fluff Busting Purity" (fbpurity.com). It allows you to
eliminate all the annoying ads, group suggestions, etc. and set it to
what YOU want to see...such as the "Friends Feed", rather than the "Top
Stories" as Facebook FORCES upon others.

  If someone on there gets to be a PITA, I just block them, which
unfriends them as well. Plus, they never see my posts again.
