Subj : Need File Area Name To : All From : HENRY TOBER Date : Thu Jan 03 2019 13:17:06 Date: Wed, 03 Jan 2001 14:17:06 -0400 From: HENRY TOBER To: ALL Subject: Need File Area Name Newsgroups: win.server.wcreports Message-ID: <978549426.37.0@winserver.com> X-Mailer: Wildcat! Interactive Net Server v7.0.454.5 Lines: 62 We use Wildcat! as a bbs to allow doctors, hospitals and collection agencies upload/download files. We set up each user with their own access profile and file areas to strictly limit who can access what. With our collection agency users, we have two file areas to download from for each user; one called reports and the other called data. We provide files in each file area for every agency each month. Our need is to be able to quickly see who has (or hasn't) downloaded their files from either/both area(s). We purchased WcReports to do this. Due to several different reasons, the file areas for many of the users are not in consecutive order numerically. When we define in File Match on the General tab the filename string, date range and check 'Files that have never been accessed' the results list in file area numerical order. For example... **** [7] PAC Data File Area **** [8] PAC Reports File Area **** [12] Abel Credit Data Area **** [14] ARMS-Huntvly Data Area **** [16] ARMS-Marlton Data Area **** [50] Valley Credit Data Area **** [52] NEAR Reports Area **** [54] Abel Credit Reports Area **** [55] ARMS-Huntvly Reports Area **** [56] ARMS-Marlton Reports Area **** [57] Collection Center Reports Area **** [58] Collection Info. Reports Area (All files listed removed to shorten example) It's would be a lot easier to compare the file areas for a particular user if I could get the results in alphabetical order so that all of a user's file areas would be with each other. I have also tried exporting the file list as an Excel file so that I could then sort the file so that I COULD get all file areas for a user together. The problem with this tactic is that the FILE AREA NAME is not an available field to be defined and so, I can't sort it the way I want to. With only the AREA NUMBER, it's even more confusing. We currently have about 150 file areas with several hundred files in the areas. Having to recreate the file areas so that they are in the order I need would be a task I want to avoid. Is there a way that I can define the FILE AREA NAME as an available field or perhaps something that I am not aware of so that I can arrange/define the data better than I currently know how to? Or perhaps, is there a way to get the FILE AREA NAME defined as an available field in the next update for WcReports? --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.1 * Origin: Prison Board BBS Mesquite Tx //telnet.RDFIG.NET www.
