Stuff like this can happen, if you have a BIOS with ACPI settings. S1 only <--- screws up Windows, needs dumppo.exe to repair S1&S3 <--- preferred, allows sleep There might also be an ACPI version setting (of all things). Make sure the ACPI version is set to the highest value listed, for best compatibility with your OS. (Dumppo, doing an override to restore Sleep) http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?p=1825058&postcount=31 This tool doesn't work in Windows 10. It's only for older OSes, if at all. It's hard to say how many more years this link is going to work. The program is only 12KB or so, it's tiny, and should have been put on the OS installer disc. ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/products/Oemtest/v1.1/WOSTest/Tools/Acpi/dumppo.exe Here's a scan of dumppo.exe from the FTp site. https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/f05702224c6d6be2a2d5753ea9bf0ff50e3afd003addc 1deb88c858664190a2a/detection And an alternative download location. http://web.archive.org/web/20050308214646/http://www.bellamyjc.net/download/dum ppo.exe The Bellamy copy is clean, even if it appears to be a different version of the previously available Microsoft FTP copy. https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/0716c1d88c219fce95c3a1114aae24700fbffaeab5265 3c4c1c2ae8484835877/details DUMPPO.EXE admin /ac minsleep=s3 Use the "dumppo admin" command first, to review whether an override is even necessary. As it could be that something else is broken (hardware-wise). Paul --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.1 * Origin: Prison Board BBS Mesquite Tx //telnet.RDFIG.NET www. (1:124/5013) .
