now i see that there's one from april that says this:

"Archive of the archives at thebbs.org

The only missing files were 404s are the source.

and also this shindakun guy uploaded the bbsfiles one to archive.org

so this archives.thebbs.org rip is probably just someone taking files combining with the old .zip and making this rip look legit.
