Interactive Net Server v7.0.454.5 Lines: 36 -> Hello Shane, -> I still have not tested the new installer. What is the status of it? -> Will it work with the custom version yet? It's worked with custom stuff since I first put it into gamma. It's just the creation of the custom stuff on our bbs that isn't completely compatible with the new installer. You must already have a custom nav installed, copy the wccustom.dll, ini and exe into the install directory (of the new installer) and boom, you have a custom installer. -> I don't think I made myself clear about it being user friendly. The -> installation of WcNav is user friendly as long as it works. In -> the past many times you had to jump through hoops getting it -> installed. It has caused quite a few illegal operations in 95/98 -> conflicting with other systray items. Again this is the old one. Getting -> a current browser (MSIE 5) configured to work with it is not at all a -> user friendly operation. The new installer doesn't have the problems that the old one had. However, using browsers with the software is a seperate issue from the installer. The problem exists when you dial in with the navigator and use a 32bit browser, and the virtual winsock support. This mix doesn't work all that well. In this case, wcPPP is a better solution. -> WcNav itself has a lot of work needed on it as well. The message -> client especially. I really don't know what your plans are for the users -> interface for WINS 2000. I wish I did so I would know which way to -> leap. Right now I am thinking of just using WcPPP and burning IE5 with -> outlook on the cd's and ditching suport for the nav all together. We are looking at a very large rewrite of wcnav for wins2000. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.1 * Origin: Prison Board BBS Mesquite Tx //telnet.RDFIG.NET www. (1:124/5013) .
