I got Doom III for xmas in '06.  I don't really play that one that much.  I
have to say, I got hooked on the original versions, and that's the one I play
to this day.  Yes, it's the PC version, but I play it with DoomLegacy on
Linux.   I've tried it with vavoom too, and it works well there too.

Oh, and I play Heretic over and over again too. :)

I still have the original Wolfenstein disks, and will play them from time to
time too.  

There is a point in a person's life where they just seem to want to retain
the original versions of the things that they loved at the time.  I guess
that's why we all love BBSing so much.  That was the popular social medium at
the time, and it just sits well with us, even now.
