Subj : Good week To : ALL From : BOB KLAHN Date : Wed Apr 20 2011 00:23:24 ... SH> 2. The AP is punked by a group of hoaksters whose blog SH> reported that GE would repay more than $3 billion in tax SH> credits (corporate welfare) they got from the Obama SH> administration. Not only did GE get tax credits for moving SH> jobs offshore, CEO Jeff Immelt got a seat on Obama's jobs SH> advisory panel. Lie number 1. In the late '90s the republican congress passed a bill allowing corporations, including GE, to avoid taxes by shifting profits overseas. In 2004 the republican congress passed another such tax dodge. Obama didn't give GE those tax dodges, they were beyond his control. SH> 3. In a surprise move - out of left field, really - a SH> democrat president proposes that the government raise taxes SH> on the rich - rich to be defined by said governemt. Like SH> the classless Clinton before him, Obama reminds us that he SH> is rich. And Obama's plan would increase taxes on Obama. Remember, 100% of the post WWII increase in the debt burden, the debt as percent of GDP, accumulated under 3 anti-tax republican presidents. SH> 4. Seems that the most transparent presidency in history SH> (that was his promise, right?) is concealing visits with SH> lobbyists by meeting with them at a coffee shop across the SH> street from the White House. White House visitors' logs Obama is going to a coffee shop across the street from the Whitehouse? ... SH> 5. American fighter jets are again dropping bombs on Libya SH> - this after Obama told Americans that other countries SH> would take over the Libya operation. Nato did take over. And the US is a member of NATO. The US has solid justification and a very good moral cause for taking down Kadaffi. SH> 6. Nancy Pelosi says, in effect, that it's too bad that we SH> have elections, echoing Obama's sentiments that he wishes SH> he had the powers of China's dictator. Didn't one of the SH> moonbats here lose what passes for his mind when G.W. Bush SH> expressed similar ideas? And when did she ever say that? I sure hope he has a link to it. Hope Hope Hope Hope Hope Hope Hope Hope Hope Hope Hope Hope OTOH, when did Obama say that? SH> 7. Indicating that he has heard the clarion call of the SH> New Politics of Civility (Cigar Willy, co chair), Rep. Ed SH> Markey says that Republicans want to destroy "the whole SH> wide world," and, worse yet, that they want to destroy the SH> internet. Speaking the truth might well be uncivil. SH> 8. People who attended the High Level Budget Summit at the SH> Oval Office say that the one area where Obama would not SH> compromise is federal funding for abortion. People who attended the high level budget summit and lied about it. Federal funding for elective abortion is forbidden under current law, and that law was not changed under Obama. Even National Health Care is covered by that law. SH> Like Cigar SH> Willy before him, Obama will keep one promise - that is, he SH> will continue to fund the killing of unborn babies under SH> the guise of women's health - or is it women's reproductive SH> freedom these days? Lie number 2. Or is it lie number 3? BOB KLAHN bob.klahn@sev.org http://home.toltbbs.com/bobklahn ....
