Unless your "community" is willing to consistently use a desktop or a laptop for comms, I doubt that usage would be a success. Today, the primary tool to communicate are smartphones. Personally, I think Briar or Simplex would be a more practical solution for a community "board". With a consistent naming approach, the message areas can be set up to look like part of a unified "bbs".
