I think I remember having read some echo announcement back in the 90s, though not sure.

More "recently", I have found in a quick search:

- LIVE_AUDIO echo in FidoNews 25-16 (2008)
- EMERGCOM echo, several announcements around 2010-2011
- IPV6 echo in FidoNews 28-20 (2011)
- HOTDOGED in Jon Justvig's alt. edition 30-42 (2013).
