There is four schottky diodes inside, and xm cable is meant to support multitask. It works fine with SC, but not with 64HDD. It will work fine under cbm4linux or opencbm. Also 64hdd does not support XM cable. It must be XE cable, that is same as XM but two wires exchanged. 64HDD uses number 8 normally. If there is a cbm device with number 8 on line, they will mix each other and wont of course work. So change the 64hdd to device 9 and so on if you want to use standard 1541 on line. If you want to use SC with the 1541, DISCONNECT the c64 from line.
