Subj : Microsoft Viva To : Mike Powell From : August Abolins Date : Fri Dec 30 2022 22:14:00 Hello Mike! MP> Each morning, I receive at least one message from a MP> service called Microsoft Viva. Apparently Outlook looks MP> through my calendar for that day and then tries to match MP> up meetings with emails I have received, and this message MP> tells me what it has found. Also, once a week, I will get MP> a second email that usually includes some brief facts MP> about how long it takes me to answer emails, on average, MP> and additional info about the days I have the most MP> meetings, etc. OMG, they just activated all those meeting/email matchings, brief facts, and stats? Something like that would make me furious. MP> At the bottom, there is a link where I can opt out. MP> Right under that is a note that says the following: MP> For people in Canada: MP> This is a mandatory service communication. THAT is certainly strange for disallowing Canadian users to opt out. I'd simply opt out of such MS product! I use MS Outlook 2007 (local to my PC). It is quite good enuff, even if it is considered 15 yrs old. MP> I am curious as to why, if I were in Canada, these MP> messages from Microsoft are mandatory? I am assuming MP> there is some law behind it. I thought it was an odd MP> message. :) Maybe you can find more about that matter elsewhere, but since I'm not a 365 or cloud Outlook user, I am not affected. -- ../|ug --- OpenXP 5.0.51 * Origin: Age Doesn't Matter Unless You're a Cheese (1:396/45.29) .
