What could improve playback experience a bit is if you apply "replaygain" to your files. This doesn't change the bytes that represents the music, but adds some calculated values for the music that can improve your playback experience: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReplayGain With commandline flac you just add --replaygain when encoding the files.
