By: Henri Derksen to Ozz Nixon on Fri Oct 27 2017 01:50 pm Well, I finally received the new USRobotic USB 56k V.92 modem. I called Janis' BBS (Zone 1)... and it worked. Now, anyone in this echo a Modem/Direct/UART Guru? What state do I need to put the modem in, to chain from mailer to BBS, or BBS to a DOOR? I found one page on the net, but it says to put your modem in AT&D0 state. Then I can drop DTR, terminal host, run next App. As soon as I lower DTR - NO CARRIER on ther terminal. * Yeah, there are hundreds of dead BBSes I could dig through there code - but, I like to talk to people who do it now, not old kludges. * I ahve built my communications library from scratch, 99% 16bit assembly with built in 4kb buffers to make migrating my old socket code over to dial-up easier. I tested on direct wire at 115200 nand it works, all the way down to 300bps. But, I digress... I have tried different strategies to go from program to program... without success.
