For example if I sent them to their rooms for time out for the younger one that was punishment but for the eldest it wasn't since she often willing went to her room to read books. She was a real bookworm that one and it was virtually impossible to find a suitable punishment although she seldom required any punishment. Speaking of punishments, often I would 'threaten' to send them off to a Catholic girls school which rightly neither took as a serious threat ... which it never was. However decades later the younger one was totally caught off guard when she found out the place actually existed. All those years ago she thought I had made it up. Same deal with math camp which her eldest son willingly enrolls in every summer. She thought I made that one up too. NB> At least you have grandchildren Yes.
