Right.  The neighbour had that exact problem about a couple or few years ago.  
I tried gpt when it first reared it's ugly head and never cared much for it.  
So far I have gotten away with the old fashioned mbr way but had to do some 
jiggery-pokery on the Supermicro A1SRM-2758F board's bios to ensure it would 
boot.
