I prefer joe myself and do use it as part of my offline mail setup on my laptop. However, at times, I just like to SSH into the BBS and run GoldEd+ directly (like I am now but I am at home). Something you might like: JoHo of Frontdoor fame and Dale Barnes of Intermail fame have both re-connected to Fidonet and are both working on new versions of their respective programs.
