Not true.  It looks like it got borked somewhere along the line and should have 
been a printable character to you -> 0x8d which according to the encoding gurus 
should be "LATIN SMALL LETTER I WITH GRAVE".  Let me try it again but this time 
I'll add an extra kludge that might allow it to escape borking;
