yes, as i've noted in this thread previously... i've seen a lot of messages 
with the "" spread throughout them... what software put them in i have no idea 
off hand...

no it doesn't...

so someone using notepad as their editor is breaking FTN standards? i don't 
think so... any editor can be used as long as the result is readable in plain 
text (eg: cat somemessage.txt)...
