Fair use has a specific legal definition and applications under US law, as you
noted later in your message. The specific sections are available online at
http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap1.html#107, and section 117 specifically
covers computer programs.

I asked Robert to stop his off-topic attacks, to be fair we should take this
