Ah yes, I loved that echo too. Unfortunately no local BBS had it here in Sweden, so I had to pay long distance call to read it. KW> If you're talking about fair use for using a downloaded/installed OS KW> when you KW> have shown good-faith efforts in owning a license, Microsoft has been KW> tough on that. Well, that's very true, Kurt. But only "officially". Unofficially MS realised that it was thanks to so many unauthorized copies of their OS (from MS-DOS and up) that made it the global success. Kids got hold of the only copies they could afford (freebies) and installed it, learned how to use it, and when they started work they were the experts that convinced their employers to go for MS rather that any other OS. KW> I work in an environment where we used an imaging system to provide a KW> common image on multiple systems, and had OEM licenses purchased with each KW> system (the "Microsoft" tax); MS still complained even though we had a 1:1 KW> ratio of licenses to systems. I know. Been there, done that -- never got the t-shirt though. 8-) --- Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; sv-SE; rv:1.9.1.16) Gecko/20101125 * Origin: news://felten.yi.org (2:203/2) .
