I thought it a bit strange that he apparently couldn't get the desktop
interface to appear at all. I wondered if he might have made some 'bad'
choices during installation. From what I gather, he is pretty new to
Linux too. No one else at that meeting was overly familiar with it
either. We do have a couple that I'm sure could have helped but that
weren't there.
