Does the caps lock led flash, or the power led?

Remove all expansion boards and check if the box works. Then re-insert one 
card
 after the other to check which one is causing the problem. Maybe the 
harddisk
itself is dead, or it's time to switch around CIA chips to see if this is the
problem. Do you have any non-standard colors on-screen when booting (that is
something else than light grey and dark grey)?
