Subj : Portability of Amiga games to Linux To : All From : Rene Laederach Date : Mon May 26 2003 13:47:56 Hi! I've had a pretty hot debate with another ex-Amigoid lifeform yesterday evening about the portability of Amiga games to Linux, especially where we have the source available somewhere, like Boulderdaesh - has anybody ever attempted it, or is my idea just a pipe dream? The rationale behind this is that AmigaOS4 will be something unix-like anyway, and since so many people will be running Linux on some other platform (like Intel, sparc or MIPS), we might have more games available, meanwhile giving away an incentive to actually buy new Amiga hardware. Is it worth the advantage if we want our platform to survive, or is it just another stopgap measure, even if we know the Amiga as we knew it on the 68k side is dead?
