why have you classified them as "illegals"? that hasn't been determined, yet... 
they are here legally on US soil requesting asylum... that's properly following 
our immigration law...

as for their appearance, they either appear in court or they don't... just like 
you, they may request/have their case extended if they cannot make it to that 
session for some reason... this is just like any other court... there is a time 
frame in play just like there is with you and any court case you may have...
