That sounds good! Better flavor than paper, I'll bet. I get grossed out when
I get paper in my mouth.

I agree, and I don't like plastic either. I don't want it in the sea, the
air, or anywhere. I'm willing to give it up, but I won't boycott it, or stand
in front of McDonalds with a sign. I might be wrong, but I suspect that there
are way more offensive plastics than straws.

If I had it my way, I'd be willing to pay the extra cost for the paper cup.
$5 for a $1 drink is fine, in order to help the environment. But forcing
minimum wage workers to play mind games on customers is a bad idea. "Only
give them a straw if they request one." <- So the employee has to act like
straws don't exist, and if they did exist, they'd be undesirable, but if the
customer doesn't fall for the trick, then straws are wonderful.

I understand, but it's a way to ease people into the extinction of plastic
straws. A way to get people to understand that instead of dying of
dehydration, we can remove the lid and press the cup up to the lips.
