In other words you are saying that Trump and all future Presidents
should be given a free pass to incite insurrection without any penalty?
IMO, impeachment of Trump serves to send notice that what he did is not
acceptable.  To be silent sends notice that what he did can be tolerated
without consequences at any time in the future.  In addition,
impeachment would prevent him from seeking any federal office in the
future.

Actually, it would not be a normal function for Congress.  It should
fall under the Executive branch.  But he has ignored that.
