Why should the blind/disabled who are receiving SSI have
their SSI payments docked by one-third if they marry?

A few years ago, during the Clinton administration, Democrats
introduced legislation to put an end to that practice.  But the
bill died in committee, on a party-line vote.  That was to be
expected, given the Republicans controlled the House.

GWB was more interested in prosecuting a madman in Iraq than
helping blind/disabled receive full SSI payments.  So nothing
was done under his watch.

During the Obama administration, no such legislation was introduced.
Not even when Democrats controlled both houses of Congress.  The
last six years the Republicans controlled both houses, so nothing
could be expected.

During the first two years of the Trump administration, nothing
was done to change the status quo.  Even though Republicans controlled
all three branches of government.   Now, even though the Democrats
have regained control of the House, nothing can be expected to change.

So.  Bottom line.  The supposedly "pro-life" party wants
blind/disabled Americans who receive SSI to be penalized if
they marry, or live in sin.

Perhaps the blind/disabled should become transgender and be
counted as neither male nor female.  That way, they will get a
pass from having to serve in the military.  And will never
be docked for getting married, as marriage between transgenders
is not recognized by the "pro-life" party of the USA.

Either that or have Mr. McGoo run for president.
