Actually, I made a pretty good case for *....right to {keep} and {bear} arms!* If the people in Chicago (and elsewhere) were allowed to make full use of their rights under the Second Amendment there would probably be far less likelyhood of some dipwick with a gun trying a mass shooting. Gun control does nothing bu insure that, when some brickbat with a hardon for life gets the notion to shoot up a `gun-free' zone, there will be nobody to resist because nobody will be armed. Another thing..... All more and more `gun control' do is disarm the people a little more with each knee-jerk reaction to a new shooting incident. And the actual aim is pretty simple to see; The more `control' put on people...the less the 2ND AMENDMENT actually means. The left can't outright abandon it, and its unlikely it will ever be `repealed'. But if they can.... restrict those who can actually take advantage of their 2ND AMENDMENT right; restrict `types' of firearms people can own; restrict number of firearms people can buy in any given time period; put `background checks' on the purchase of ammo; raise the bar on background checks to include more and more individuals being restricted; force gun registration (which many states, California included, already have) restrict amounts of ammo anyone can buy in a given period (which is coming to California soon); they will know pretty well everyone who owns and possesses a firearm...what calibers they own...roughly how much ammunition they have...where those firearms are kept... and it will not be long down the road when there will be laws passed that forbid any private citizen to own or possess a firearm in the US, and the only people with firearms will be military; cops; government agents; And the governments (state, local and federal) will not be `governing by the people for the people' anymore, they will be `ruling' and the citizenry will be under their thumb.
