Way back in the dial-up dark ages Fidonet was very hierarchical, and it was possible to enact and enforce discipline on the users. At one time POLITICS had a limit of 250 posts per individual per day, and I got moderated a couple of times for exceeding that limit. But we all got along okay and pretty much behaved ourselves. Moderating is no longer possible and net discipline can't be enforced because anyone who misbehaves can just find another feed and get around feed cuts that way. In case anyone cares, the creator and first moderator of the POLITICS echo was a fellow named Ed Cleary, who, if memory serves had a real job as an attorney. Ed passed the moderator hat to David Bloomberg (aka 'Crackpot') sometime back around 1990. In the early 2000s David turned the moderatorship over to Gary Braswell, who quietly vanished a year or two later. If memory serves, ALL-POLITICS was set up in the late 1990s by Bob Sakowski, Stan Hardegree and one other fellow who's name escapes me at the moment, primarily because they were not happy with the moderating in POLITICS. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Fido Since 1991 | QWK by Web | BBS.FIDOSYSOP.ORG (1:123/140) .
