We are largely ignorant.  Ignorant and unknowing.
There are times when we do not know we are ignorant.
There are times when we recognize our ignorance.
But most of the time, we are both ignorant and unknowing.

This is only important if the expected consequences
of our actions are significant. Otherwise, we can be
ignorant and unknowing all we want, without any real
consequence at all.

Of course, if those expected consequences are unexpected ...
