It used to be, not so long ago, that people in Louisiana and most
of the South, had no choice but to vote for candidates in the
Democratic Party, as there were usually no Republicans on the ballot
at all.  I am glad that people today have more choices, and that
there are multiple parties having candidates to choose from.

I am not criticizing folks who choose to vote the party line.
Some people continue to do so, as is their right.  But I do find
today's choices as being much more open and democratic.
