I did use the original Mandrake for a couple of years way back when, and 
liked it a lot.  Then it got weird too (I think because Gnome went down 
the shitter), and I went back to my first love, Slackware.  :-)

I think the distros I don't like are usually because of their package 
management method.  Strange because I liked Mandrake even though it used 
the Redhat-style RPMs, but it had a nice front-end for that, called 
"URPMI", I think.
