Subj : IRC service or standalone? To : Rixter From : Digital Man Date : Thu Jun 19 2025 21:53:32 Re: IRC service or standalone? How can I see what's going on in all > those leafs that are out there on myBBS? I run the ircd stand alone (with jsexec) because I don't want it to keep my Synchronet services server from being able to be recycled or restarted when I want. Also, if there are any performance or result utilization issues with it, it's easier to debug/trouble-shoot as a stand alone program. And btw, if you you're running a Linux systemd init system, there's a service unit file included in the Synchronet Git repo in the install/systemd directory just for this very use (running the ircd with jsexec). -- digital man (rob) Steven Wright quote #17: Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy.
