There's a big push by some groups to rewrite key parts (like coreutils) for
Linux in Rust.

Now, that's not a big problem.  The big problem is that these rewrites are not
feature complete, and very buggy (unlike the current C code that has been
proven and fixed over many years) and that they want them put into releases
NOW.
