As far as Chromium remains open-source I don't think the monoculture aspect is too problematic. Still, it sucks when some non-standard becomes so dominant it starts being difficult to use any alternative. Thankfully, I think we are far from that point. The only firefox fork I have ried s Pale Moon. It was ok, but the developpers were assholes and the whole deal was very Windows centric.
