There's no reason that you couldn't have an IM client that allows you to create a unique ID which can be used via the internet on any suitable device such as a smartphone, PC, laptop or tablet. Apple has iMessage which allows users to contact each other using any of their devices. I often start a conversation on my smartphone and, once I get home, I continue the conversation over my iPad... I don't have a MacBook or iMac but either device would also be compatible. Something totally third-party which could be used on a device of any brand would be pretty great though. Someone should make that happen. --- þ Synchronet þ BBS for Amstrad computer users including CPC, PPC and PCW! .
