I think it didn't run right on XP. but used it off/on at some point and just stopped trying. When Win7 came out, I preferred it to anything that came before anyway (in terms of UX). My understanding is I *could* do similar with gnome as I used to with LiteStep, just never dug into it far enough to start. -- Michael J.
