If yoiu enjoy ultra-compact Linux distributions, Tiny Core Linux is worth checking. Keep in mind the core has the barebones necessary to boot and offer you a shell, and not much else. You are supposed to build up from there. I actually wrote an article for Linux Magazine about packaging and deploying Tiny Core Linux extensions. It should be hitting the presses not long from now.
