It might be worth trying to remove the dead battery first, and hopefully you'll
get the usual errors of RTC not set and Setup restored to default.  If that
doesn't work, you'll have to do some more troubleshooting, including trying a
new battery.  If it does work after removing the battery, you will want a new
one, to maintain settings and run the RTC.
