Likewise. I'm stuck in suburbia with a dipole hung on a pair of flag poles
along the boundary much to the neighbours disgust in Ballarat, so about an hour
out of Melbourne. 

I'm a senior system administrator, and I deal with mainly hardware (all sitting
in DCs)  and *nix based systems... though my postgrad was all in cybersec.  
Will give your smart home video a watch when I get a chance. Straight off the
bat from clicking, I see you're doing all the smart things - dedicated VLANs
and such, so it's already speaking my language. 

I'll give the DMR video a watch when I get time too. I fiddled with it briefly
when I started out but mostly ignored V/UHF as soon as I started getting
somewhere with HF. WARS - I know who they are.. at least thanks to the
powerpole kits :)
