Plus, we had thunderstorms here much of Friday. Da> Oh no! I hope everything's OK! First, we had strong and severe thunderstorms in the area much of the day. Then, I got a phone call from my PCP's nurse. I had been experiencing possible deep vein thrombosis (DVT) symptoms (blood clots in the legs, which can lead to a fatal heart attack or stroke), and it was advised I go to either Urgent Care or the ER...I chose the latter. On the way there, I started getting both abdominal and testicular pain (sometimes, the testicular pain can be a precursor to kidney stones). One woman told me "If women can pass a baby, you men can pass a kidney stone". I retorted "Unlike the female cervix, the male penis can NOT dialate". Another woman told me that she'd rather have quintuplets in hard labor, with no epidural, than one kidney stone. That pretty much sums it up. I felt well enough to drive there, to avoid ambulatory and taxi fees. But, the ER was packed...I got there at 5pm Friday, and was not released until 3am Saturday. After I got checked in, and told of my symptoms, they felt I was at a moderate risk for DVT. They first drew blood, then wanted a urine sample. For the women, they give them a cup...but for the men, it's basically "a test tube" (are you kidding me??)!! They then added an IV to get more blood, and decided to do a CT Scan, as well as ultrasounds of the legs and groin area. The gel on the ultrasounds, while messy, was warm (and the female nurse was good looking (hi hi))...but nudity means nothing to them. The contrast dye for the ultrasound gave "that nice warm feeling", but I thought I would pee and poop on the table!! The diagnosis was NOT a DVT (blood clot), but severe epididymytis, a recurring complication for men who've had vasectomies done. Mine was in 2003; due to chicken pox in 1980, which nearly went into encephalitis... and having absorbed the solvent methyl-ethyl-ketone into my body after nearly 20 years in silkscreen printing; and I was concered about birth defects for a child...never mind my wife didn't want any kids, as she had numerous health issues as well. So, I have to go see the urologist this week for a follow up visit. Yet, I felt the cost of a few shekels was far better than my life, had there been a DVT after all. They gave me a prescription for doxycycline, which I have to take 12 hours apart, until finished. Unfortunately, I don't think surgery can be done for that, even though I had the vasectomy done nearly 18 years ago. As my late wife so eloquently put it "They wouldn't spay me, so he volunteered to get neutered" (hi hi). As a side note, the Canadian Comedy team of Bowser and Blue, have 3 hilarious videos on YouTube...just search for them. 1) Praise To The Colorectal Surgeon 2) My Vasectomy 3) The Prostate Song I think I've got PMS (Pecker Malfunctioning Syndrome)...and E.D. for me is not just for "electronic doofus" (hi hi). If you want a file on a packet net where E.D. was the topic of discussion, point your web browser to https://www.theweatherwonder.com/elk.htm and look for "The E.D. Net". Daryl, WX4QZ ....
